Q. What are the basic system requirements for using Membr?

A. Membr is built and tested to work in the following conditions and on the following web browsers. It may work on other browsers and devices that are not listed, however these will not be officially supported. 

Internet Requirements:

An internet connection is required to use Membr. We recommend the following:

• 25Mbps download speed
• 15Mbps upload speed

• You can test your internet speed here

  We recommend using an Ethernet based connection, as they are always the most reliable and stable method to stay connected. However, if an Ethernet Connection is not available, Wireless Access can be used.

PC Requirements:

Please keep in mind that whilst Macbooks / Chromebooks / Linux Devices do work within our system, we recommend using Windows - Please visit Gate Access > Requirements for more information.

• Operating System: Windows 11 or above
• Memory: 8GB or above
• Hard Drive /SSD: 500 GB or above
• Graphics: Integrated, dedicated is not needed.
• CPU: Intel i5 or above/AMD A6 or above

We recommend a minimum of 4 USB ports or more, depending on how many peripherals are used.

Required Peripherals:

• Mouse
• Keyboard
• Card Scanner / Nortech Box

Generally used (but not required) Peripherals:

• Camera
• Printer
• USB Drives

Supported Browsers

Membr supports a variety of browsers to use our system.

• Internet Explorer - Versions 10 & 11
• Microsoft Edge - Version 110 and above
• Firefox - Version 44 and above
• Google Chrome - Version 114 and above
• Safari - Version 9 and above.

We recommend that you use Google Chrome for your browsing.

Access Requirements

Membr provides multiple options for your Access Solution.

Nortech

Nortech is a Windows Only application to manage Turnstiles. NB: This does not support Chromebooks or Macbooks

If you decide to go with this option, the requirements are as follows:

Operating System: Windows 11 or above.

Memory: 8GB or above (We recommend using DDR4)

Hard Drive / SSD: 500GB or above.

CPU: Intel i5 / AMD A6 or above

USB Ports: You need an additional USB Port available for the Nortech Box.

Nomical

Nomical is a cloud based access system, so Hardware Requirements are not needed for this Access Solution.

However, we highly recommend using an Ethernet Cable to ensure communication between Membr is not disrupted.

Card swipe

Card Swipe is one of the more simpler solutions for your Access Needs. It’s plug and play!

You will need the following:

A stable Internet Connection (We highly recommend to use Ethernet)

USB Ports: You will need an additional USB Port available for the Card Scanner.
